I
suppose the answer to this question is hidden in the question itself, isn't
it? A tank that is used to store diesel
on different sites in different environments due to differently raised
conditions usually for a short period of time is called a "Storage
Diesel Tank".
Storage
Diesel Tanks are an ideal choice for mobile refuelling on-site or in the field,
to use as an emergency back-up for fuel supply or to use to fill diesel in
plant or agricultural vehicles.
Storage
Diesel Tanks used for storing diesel for industrial or agricultural use for a
short period of time are essentially light-weight (obviously when empty), are
made using strong impact resistant UV Stabilised Polyethylene Polytuff so that
they are virtually weather-proof. These tanks can be transported easily from
one place to another by placing it at the back of a trailer or even a utility vehicle
because of its weight.
Normally
the tanks come with lids and breathers (they essentially ensure that there is
no spillage of diesel while in transit). They also have a safety bottom fill
drop tube that prevents over-filling of diesel.
Modern
day storage diesel tanks
also come with an in-built DC pump, a hose and an automatic nozzle as a
complete set. This enables the user to just take the storage diesel tank on-site for use and not worry about any other
requirements to be able to operate it efficiently and easily. In certain storage diesel tanks, there is also a
provision given for padlocking it via a mounting bracket to give an extra bit
of security to the user.

Apart
from these storage diesel tanks that are used for on-site or field usage, there
are also bigger steel storage tanks
that are usually used for storing huge quantities of diesel on-field (be it
land or sea). These storage tanks are even used to store diesel when there is
an oil spill from containers, etc. Certain bigger tanks also come in foldable
fabric bodies making its transportation extremely easy. On the other hand, some
storage tanks are self-erecting foldable so that they can be carried and
installed anywhere as required.
